Hull City chairman Paul Duffen has revealed that the club are interested in signing Fulham striker Bobby Zamora this summer, but has stressed that any move for the hitman depends on the Cottagers bringing in a replacement.According to
skysports.com, former
West Ham man Zamora is in on a shortlist of six strikers that Tigers boss Phil Brown is interested in bringing to the KC Stadium this summer.
While a £6million offer for
Manchester United ace Fraizer Campbell remains on the table and a £3.8million deal for
Nancy forward Marc Antoine-Fortune is still in the offing, Brown is eager not to be caught cold if those deals are to fall through.
Having already admitted an interest in
Aston Villa hitman Marlon Harewood, Brown has now targeted Zamora despite the 28-year-old enduring an indifferent debut season at Craven Cottage, where he managed just
two goals in 35 appearances.
"We have an understanding with Fulham but nothing will happen unless they get a striker in," Duffen told
Radio Humberside. And with the West London outfit reportedly in talks to sign Pawel Brozek, 26, from
Wisla Krakow in a £3.5million deal, while they have also been strongly linked with a £10million move for Portsmouth's
England striker Peter Crouch, it would seem that Zamora's days by the Thames are numbered.
