Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is hoping to lure Arsenal striker Carlos Vela to Craven Cottage on a season long loan ahead of the Cottager's busy campaign ahead.
The former
Blackburn supremo has been linked with a number of acquisitions this summer but has so far only added one new face to the ranks in south-west London. Bjorn Helge-Riise made a surprise switch to the team who qualified for the Europa League last season from
Lillestrom earlier in the off season.
But Hodgson knows that more reinforcements are needed, and is set to swoop for the Mexican starlet.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing a move for
Fulham workhorse Brede Hangeland and should that move materialise, Hodgson will move for Vela.
The promising hitman has 18 full caps to his name already and Wenger see's him very much as a star of the future. As such a permanent deal won't be happening, but a loan switch very well might. The Frenchman has been willing to loan him to a number of Spanish sides previously and
Fulham might be added to that list. Hodgson, it seems is desperate for some extra firepower.
