Liverpool travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to face Everton in an eagerly-anticipated Merseyside derby, with that in mind, ExtraFootie recalls some recent memorable clashes, with a little help from YouTube...
The Merseyside rivals were both dealt major blows in the week, with Liverpool crashing out of the UEFA Champions League and Everton finding themselves 3-0 at Hull (yes, HULL!) at half-time, before eventually crashing 3-2.
All of which means neither Rafa Benitez or David Moyes can bear to contemplate defeat on Sunday, with the loser set to be firmly in the doghouse amongst fans come Monday morning.
1. Everton enjoyed an excellent start to the 2006 season, which must seem, and is, a distant memory now, but their fans will still remember a resounding 3-0 win over their arch rivals thanks to goals from Andy Johnson (2) and Tim Cahill.
2. Going back a bit further now, here's the sides' 1991 FA Cup fifth-round replay, which ended 4-4 in arguably the grestest match between the two sides.
The game featured braces from Graeme Sharp and Tony Cottee for Everton and Peter Beardsley for the Reds, with John Barnes and Ian Rush also amongst the goals.
Kenny Dalglish resigned the morning after, while Everton won the second replay.
3. And in the interest of impartiality, here's a Liverpool victory. The typically tempestuous affair featured five goals, a missed penalty, twelve bookings, the sending off of Igor Biscan and a 45-yard free-kick from Gary McAllister.
Emile Heskey got the opener for the Reds, only for Duncan Ferguson to cancel it out before Markus Babbel put Liverpool back and Robbie Fowler missed a spot-kick.
David Unsworth showed him how it was done to restore parity, all before McAllister sealed the win at the death. Phew!
