David Moyes has wasted no time in splashing the cash raised by the sale of Joleon Lescott with a further addition to his squad in the form of Atletico Madrid defender John Heitinga imminent. The Sun is reporting that the deal will be confirmed today which will see the 25-year-old Holland international move to Goodison Park for £5m. The signing comes just hours after the confirmation that Sylvain Distin had agreed terms on his switch from Portsmouth for a similar fee thought to be £5.3m.
The Everton chief will have plenty of change from the £24m Manchester City paid them for Lescott and is looking to bring in one or two more players as he bids to strengthen his squad.
"We bought Joleon for just under £5m and we have made profit, which we are hopefully going to put back in and strengthen the club. I'm hoping to do more than another two if I can," he told The Sun.
The versatility of Heitinga, who can operate as a right-back, centre half, or defensive midfielder will be a big plus for the Toffees who will now turn their attention to bulking up the midfield department with Tottenham mis-fit David Bentley rumoured to be on the manager's wish-list.
