Reports emerging today suggest that Everton boss David Moyes is to land Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor, with a medical set for Monday.
The Scotsman's attempts to lure Arsenal's Swiss stopper Phillippe Senderos to Goodison Park appear to have failed so he has turned to his second choice target - Steven Taylor.
Moyes had previously bemoaned that The Magpies were asking too much for the tough tackling man - but now a fee, believed to be in excess of £5million is thought to have been agreed.
Former England U21 man Taylor was something of a fan favourite on Tyneside, but he is believed to be determined to remain in the top flight this term.
Everton are offering him that opportunity.
He has over 100 league outings to his name in the Black and White of the Toon but mightn't be adding to that number. With a medical set for Monday and Moyes stating that new additions could arrive within "48 hours," Taylor looks a safe bet to swap Tyneside for Merseyside.
