Chelsea are reportedly preparing to launch a £10 million bid to bring Shakhtar Donetsk's buccaneerng full-back Darijo Srna to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.
The London Evening Standard claim the Blues have already made contact with the 2009 UEFA Cup winners to confirm their interest, with Carlo Ancelotti identifying the 27-year-old as the ideal replacement for Jose Bosingwa.
The Portuguese raider has been ruled out for more then three months with a knee injury and Ancelotti may have to dip into their vast pot of cash to
find adequate cover, with Srna fitting the bill.
Srna joined Shakhtar from Hajduk Split in 2003 and has been an instrumental part of the Hirnyky's league and UEFA Cup success in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
It is believed that Shakhtar have already granted permission for Chelsea to speak with the set-piece specialist, who has netted an impressive has scored 18 goals from 71 appearances for Croatia national team.
Srna, who would be eligible to play in the UEFA Champions League even though he has played in the Europa League this season, has admitted he is considering a move after receiving two offers from clubs on the continent.
"The truth is I have two definite offers from top clubs in Europe, but I cannot name them. That would not be right," he said.
