Chelsea have joined a host of prestigious clubs chasing exciting youngster Romelu Lukaku who is currently playing for Belgian side Anderlect.
He may not even have finished school yet, but already Romelu Lukaku is the hottest property in European football following his stunning exploits at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium this season.
The 6ft 2in Congolese-born hitman has taken the Jupiler League by storm, with his power and explosive pace likening him to his hero - Chelsea striker Didier Drogba.
Such has been the impact he has made every Tom, Dick and Harry, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona and AC Milan, have ben frequenting Anderlecht games to check out the Belgian Under-21 international.
However, his father, Roger, has dismissed talk of a potential move away from Brussels, for the time being at least, by insisting his son must finish school first before seeking a lucrative switch to the continent.
The news will disappoint his host of admirers, but will undoubtedly benefit Lukaku in the future as he continues to learn his trade with regular first-team football.
"Other clubs can make as many offers as they want, my son is going to finish school," Roger Lukaku said recently, according to The Daily Mail.
"That's another 18 months. I'm going mad with all these managers calling me about my son. I tell them, 'It makes no sense. He's going nowhere.'"
Lukaku signed a new five-year contract with Anderlecht on his 16th birthday back in May which enables him to consider his options when he turns 18.
So come 2012, there is a chance Didier Drogba Mark II will be gracing Premier League his talents - what a thought that must be for defenders!
