Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka is ready to put pen to paper in a new £120,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge.
Anelka has recently reiterated his desire to stay in West London for the remainder of his career having settled in nicely since his £15million move from Bolton in January 2008.
The 30-year-old has been one of the Blues’ in-form players this season having netted seven goals in 16 appearances and now the Frenchman is eager to sign a contract extension by the New Year.
"I hope to sign a new contract soon. I am very happy at Chelsea. I have found a home,” he was quoted as saying by the News of The World.
"Ever since I left Real Madrid, I wanted to find a big club again and I have with Chelsea. It is a big club with big players.
"I feel I am playing the best football of my career and want to carry on playing my best days with Chelsea,” he added.
Anelka’s current deal still has 18 months to run but negotiations with he club's new chief executive Ron Gourlay are set to begin this week.
