Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has revealed how he dreamt of donning the famous Red and Black of Italian giants AC Milan before deciding to commit his future with the Blues.
The Ivorian hitman was a transfer target for the Rossoneri after the sudden departure of Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho in September 2007 left him considering his options.
Following the 'Special One's' shock exit, Drogba admitted to France Football Magazine that he 'wants to leave Chelsea,' claiming that 'something is broken' and that 'the damage is big in the dressing room.'
His outburst had led many to believe the former Marseille hitman would pack his bags and quit Stamford Bridge with AC Milan touted as a possible destination.
However, despite having decided against a move, the 31 year-old has spoken of his boyhood passion for the Rossoneri.
"I like the city of Milan very much," he told respected Italian sports journal La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I have many friends there and, along with Madrid, Paris and Marseille, it’s one of the places where I can relax.
"Every player dreams of big teams. And ever since I was a child in France, I loved Milan. It was a fan passion.
"But in life dreams and reality don't always coincide. Serie A would have been a good league for me, but the truth is I am really happy at Chelsea," he added.
Drogba has been in scintillating form this season as the Blues continue to set the pace in the Premier League, but the Blues No.11 believes one man over all others deserves the credit - new boss Carlo Ancelotti.
"He has an excellent personality and great experience," he affirmed. "He knows how to achieve success. He is an ambitious coach and has immediately passed his qualities on to us.
"He has quickly won over the dressing room. He is always up for a joke, in training too. But he is very determined during the matches.
"He is refining what was already working and that's a sign of greatness."
