Legendary AC Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi could make a shock move to the Premier League in January, with Chelsea and Manchester City reportedly interested in his services.

The 36-year-old predator has been at the San Siro since joining the Rossoneri from Juventus in 2001, but it seems after falling out of favour under boss Leonardo he is ready to move on.

Inzaghi's current contract runs out at the end of this season, but a report in Corriere dello Sport suggests that he will seek a transfer in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Former Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti is understood to keen to link up with Inzaghi once again at Stamford Bridge as he looks to cover for the absence of Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou during the African Nations Cup.

Meanwhile, City boss Mark Hughes is seeking an experienced striker to add to his ranks, while La Liga strugglers Atletico Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation.

The Piacenza-born forward has failed to score in Serie A so far this campaign, though he has struck twice in the UEFA Champions League when Milan beat Marseille in Matchday 1.

Inzaghi's finest moment in a Milan shirt came in 2007 when he scored a brace in the 2-1 UEFA Champions League final win over Liverpool in Athens.
