Mourinho slams Chelsea's lack of stability

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has sensationally slammed the lack of stability at Chelsea under the ownership of Roman Abramovich.

Mourinho is loved in West London after winning the Premier League title for the first time in the club's history in 2004-05 and its first domestic top-flight title in 50 years.

However, the self proclaimed 'Special One' walked out on the club in September 2007 following a series of reported high profile bust-ups with Russian billionaire Abramovich over the club’s transfer policy and direction.

Now currently managing at Inter Milan, the Portuguese coach has lifted the lid on life at Stamford Bridge, questioning the culture at the club under Abramovich.

"At Chelsea my ambition was to create a bit of history," he told The Times. "But I always knew Chelsea lacked the normal English culture of stability.

"I was never under any illusions. I understood the personality of (owner) Roman Abramovich and the culture of the people around him. I knew it was not a job for 10 years."

The former Porto boss guided the Nerazzurri to the Serie A title last season and currently holds a five-point lead at the top of the table this season.

However, Mourinho has insisted he wants to return to England and has been linked to both Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 46-year-old said: "I love Inter and would love to build for the future here.

"But Italy is not the country for this. England is the country - and my football is English football."
