Chelsea full-back Jose Bosingwa is facing an anxious wait on whether he will require an operation on his knee having travelled back to his homeland Portugal in order to have scans on the injury.
The 27-year-old picked up the problem in Chelsea's defeat at Aston Villa last month and hasn't featured in any of his side's five games since, while an operation would mean a further month on the sidelines.
The problem is on Bosingwa's left knee, and it will be left up to the Blues' medical staff to decide what is the best course of action to take for the defender, who must simply hope for the best in the meantime. "It's all up to the doctors, but I'll accept the best solution," Bosingwa said, according to The Daily Express.
The buccaneering right-back joined the Blues in 2008 for £16million from Portuguese champions Porto, and impressed in his first season, making 50 appearances and scoring twice.
