Burnley manager Owen Coyle will be turning out for his reserve side when they take on Liverpool's second string at Prenton Park on Wednesday evening.
The 43-year-old will pull on the shooting boots to make up the numbers for the Clarets as the squad has a number of players missing through international duty.
Coyle will line-up alongside a strike partner less than half his age in 19-year-old Wes Fletcher, and will no doubt offer the former Liverpool youngster some valuable experience.
The Scot only retired from the game two years ago when he was registered as a player at former club St Johnstone, and previously enjoyed a 22 year career in which he scored an impressive 200 goals for teams such as Motherwell and Bolton.
The gaffer will be joined in the side by first-team players Christian Kalvenes, David Edgar and Richard Eckersley who are all in need of match fitness, while there will also be a debut for former Grimsby and Leeds keeper Jonathan Lund.
As for Coyle, this won't be the first time he has turned out for the Turf Moor second string, and he will be hoping to do to Liverpool what he did to their close neighbours Accrington Stanley in April of this year.
