Burnley's record signing Steven Fletcher has insisted that he does not feel under extra pressure to perform on account of his £3million price tag.
The 22-year-old got off the mark for his new club as the Clarets continued their remarkable start to the season, maintaining their 100 per cent home record and moving up to ninth in the Premier League in the process.
Fletcher, who had previously scored three times in the Carling Cup, grabbed his first league goal at the eighth time of asking to put his side ahead against Birmingham at Turf Moor, a game which the Clarets eventually won 2-1.
Capped five times by Scotland, Fletcher signed for Owen Coyle's side after having netted 52 times in 190 appearances over six seasons for Hibernian, and is determined to prove himself in the English top flight. "I think in the Premier League £3million is quite cheap, although being the record signing people expect things," he told Sky Sports News.
"But I am still young and learning. I've got four years here so hopefully I can make a name for myself."
