Burnley's veteran striker Robbie Blake has pointed to his side's home form as justification for the Clarets' belief that they can avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.
Burnley are currently sitting comfortably in mid-table, thanks exclusively to their 100 per cent home record, a distinction they share with top-flight big guns Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.
The Clarets' form at Turf Moor contrasts sharply with their away record, Owen Coyle's side have been on the end of some increasingly heavy losses, progressively losing by a further goal on each of their away trips.
This trend culminated in last weekend's 5-0 drubbing at White Hart Lane, but Blake, who grabbed the winner in his side's shock 1-0 over United at the start of the season, has insisted that his side's home form can see them through.
"We have beaten some top teams and we want to keep that momentum going at home," he told Sky Sports
News.
And the 33-year-old, who is in his third season at Turf Moor having already managed over 100 appearances for the Clarets, has put their home form down to the intimidating atmosphere that home fans create for visiting teams.
"At times there was only 12,000 here last year and it was a great atmosphere - now we have virtually double that, so it's double the noise and it's fantastic to be involved at a packed-out Turf Moor.
"The fans are going to be there for us all season, I know that, and they will be the extra man hopefully that can keep us in this division."
