Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish looks set to raid his former club Rangers and lure duo Steven Davis and Kris Boyd to St Andrews when the transfer window opens in January.
The Blues will be aiming to exploit the cash-strapped Scottish champions, who are facing an uncertain future with debts spiralling out of control to the tune of £30million, and bring the pair south of the border at a cut-price deal.
Davis is thought to be open to a return to Birmingham, after spending four years in the city with his first club Aston Villa, and according to the Daily Mirror McLeish is willing to splash out £3million on the Northern Ireland international.
However, he may face competition from a host of top-flight rivals for Davis' signature, with Sunderland boss Steve Bruce a confimred admirer of the industrious midfielder.
Meanwhile, Boyd, 26, has banged in five goals for Gers this season, but with his contract expiring in the summer, the Scotsman looks set to reunite with his former boss for a price of £1million.
Birmingham currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League, three points off the drop zone, but McLeish will hope his two potential January signings can help the avoid an immediate return to the Championship.
