Prince Charles outed as a Burnely fan!

Heir to the throne Prince Charles is a Burnley fan, it has been exclusively revealed, after the Royal let slip his Clarets' allegiance during a private conversation with the club's director John Sullivan.

Prince Charles has many links with the Burnley since a 2005 visit, and now considers the 'remarkable town' his 'number one priority' having set up a Prince's Trust office in the Lancashire town.

The Sun reports that the Royal keeps bang up to date with Burnley's results, having been delighted with the club's progression to the Premier League under Owen Coyle, and plans to take in a game at Turf Moor.

Sullivan explained that Charles made the admission when the pair met at a gathering in Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh:

"The Prince was delighted at the progress made by the club and has expressed a desire to visit us and see the good work we do in the community for himself, should his diary allow."

The news follows a revelation a couple of years back that the Queen is a professed Arsenal fan, having been a supporter for over 50 years, while Prince Harry is a fellow Gooner, having followed in his grandmother's footsteps.

Meanwhile, Prince William, like Charles is also of the claret and blue persuasion, but prefers Aston Villa to his father's Burnley, ExtraFootie's Royal Correspondent can exclusively reveal.
