Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that while he rates VfL Wolfsburg hitman Edin Dzeko highly, he will not be making a move for the towering Bosnian, as he is out of his price-range.
The 23-year-old is currently one of the most closely monitored striking commodities in Europe having helped Wolfsburg to their first ever Bundesliga title last season with 26 goals in an all-round sparkling campaign.
AC Milan, Manchester United and Chelsea are among those also believed to be interested in the Bosnia international, who will be hoping to secure Wolfsburg's progression to the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening.
United assistant manager Mike Phelan considers the 6ft 4in marksman an ideal prospect for the Premier League, and Arsenal could badly do with a lofty target man amongst their various diminutive flair-player attackers.
However, it appears that Dzeko will not be the one to fill the void left by the injured Robin van Persie, as much as Wenger would like him to be, the Frenchman admitting that the £20million-rated striker is out of the Gunners price range.
"I like the player. But they fly too high right now, price-wise," Wenger admitted, according to FourFourTwo.
