VIDEO: Arsenal close in on Brazilian starlet Zezinho

Arsenal are set to announce the signing of the wonderfully-named Brazilian youngster Zezinho in the coming days, after the Gunners finally had an offer accepted at the third time of asking.

Zezinho, just 17 years of age, and who, to ExtraFootie's horror, does not even have a Wikipedia page, will arrive from Brazilian Serie B side Juventude in January after impressing during a trial with the North London club.

Arsene Wenger, whose penchant for diminutive young attack-minded continental-style midfielders is well-known, has apparently been chasing the Brazilian Under-17 star for a number of years, despite the player's tender age.

Arsenal have previously had bids of £1.5million and £2.75million turned down for the starlet, but have now agreed a fee in the region of £5 million with Juventude for Zezinho's services.

The Gunners South American scout Sandro Orlandelli has been making frequent checks on Zezinho's progress in Serie B and has been impressed with the technically gifted teenager's progress of late.

Both the player and his agent, Augusto Nogueira, have recently confirmed that his move to the Emirates Stadium is but a matter of dotting the 'i's and crossing the 't's.

"
Arsenal want to close the deal with Juventude this month, who look set to accept," Nogueira told Brazilian newspaper Zero Hora.

Zezinho himself, also a reported target for Liverpool, appeared even more sure of the deal: "My time at Juventude ended on Saturday," he said.

"Until now, I thought that I would continue, but my agent said that it is impossible.

"He told me that Arsenal will submit a new offer to Juventude - the third in a year, it seems - and this time it will be solved. I don't know about any other interested team. The only proposal is from Arsenal, the others were for trials."

Here is Zezinho scoring the winner for Juventude against Portuguesa back in August:
