Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin and Tottenham's Roman Pavyluchenko further extended the rivalry between the North London clubs when the pair were involved in a furious row whilst on Russia duty.
Arsenal's diminutive magician had apparently taken matters into his own hands ahead of Russia's World Cup play-off second leg against Slovenia last week, giving a team talk in the Sbornaya's dressing room.
Whatever he said can't have had much effect, as Guus Hiddink's side saw their 2-1 lead from the first leg overturned as they crashed to a 1-0 defeat, a result which meant the Euro 2008 semi-finalists have failed to reach the World Cup finals.
The Daily Mirror revealed that Spurs' want-away striker Pavyluchenko took offence to Arhavin's motivational speech, and is said to have told his Arsenal rival to shut up!
"The only player who protested about Arshavin's talk was Roman Pavlyuchenko, he told Andriy strongly to shut up," a source told the newspaper.
The row then continued in the team's hotel at breakfast the next morning, where Arshavin was reprimanded for his actions, together with accomplices Alexander Anyukov and Vladimir Bystrov.
On being scolded, the famously out-spoken Arshavin is said to have let his acid tongue do the talking: "Rumour is that the leader of the trio replied in his usual insolent manner," the source continued.
This led ExtraFootie to consider some other famous bust-ups between team-mates over the years:
1.Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham shared a famously acrimonious relationship - speaking to each other only on the football field due to a row which dated back to something Sheringham said to Cole when the latter was making his England debut.
The dispute didn't seem to effect the pairs' understanding on the pitch however, as United won an unprecedented treble with the two players frequently leading the line together as the Red Devils dominated on all fronts in 1999.
2.John Hartson and Eyal Berkovic went a bit further than the silent treatment in this training ground clash during the duos' time at West Ham.
3. Newcastle United suddenly found themselves down to nine men when Kieron Dyer clashed with team-mate Lee Bowyer during a heavy defeat to Aston Villa in 2006.
