The Serbian doctor who treated crocked Arsenal star Robin Van Persie, amongst other Premier League stars, with a revolutionary technique using horse placenta has reportedly gone AWOL.
Marijana Kovacevic gave headline writers a field day last week when it was revealed that Gunners hitman Van Persie was flying out to Belgrade to undergo her oddball treatment in a bid to recover more quickly from his ankle injury.
And The Sun have dubiously reported that England aces Frank Lampard and Glen Johnson also made the trip to Eastern Europe last week in search of cures to their injury woes as news of her miraculous medication spread.
But despite the Premier League's apparent approval to her alternative approach, Belgrade authorities are less enthused, and are said to be hot on her tail for not having earned the required licenses to carry out such treatments.
The Sun also reports that Serbian tax officials are hunting her down as her company is not officially registered, while police and health inspectors have all tried and failed to make contact with the shock doc, who appears to have bolted.
And despite all of this, Chelsea's Frank Lampard apparently found his way to Kovacevic's treatment table on Friday without any trouble at all, although it is claimed that he was not given the infamous horse placenta massage.
