Arsenal have made a new offer to Bordeaux for striker Marouane Chamakh in the hope of landing the in-demand Morocco international.
With the transfer deadline fast approaching, manager Arsene Wenger has made one last effort to sign the forward, a player he has been chasing for much of the summer after selling Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City.
According to The Daily Mirror, Wenger has made a new improved offer for the 25-year-old, who has again been in excellent form for Les Girondins this season scoring three goals in as many games, in the hope of luring him to North London.
The Gunners have already had a £6million bid for Chamakh turned down by the French club but the player himself has made no secret of his desire to seal a 'dream' move to the Emirates Stadium.
Chamakh has been high on the wanted lists of several Premier League clubs, with Sunderland known to be interested, while Fulham, Blackburn and Tottenham have all been linked.
Bordeaux, meanwhile, are believed to have accepted a £7million offer from West Ham but Chamakh was unable to agree personal terms, with his sights seemingly set on a move to the Gunners.
A regular at international level, Chamakh helped Laurent Blanc's men win the Ligue 1 crown last season, bringing Lyon's run of seven successive titles to an end.
