Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has rejected an approach from Peterborough to succeed Darren Ferguson in the managerial hotseat at London Road.
As ExtraFootie reported earlier on Wednesday, Championship basement boys Peterborough had made an approach to the Cherries for permission to speak to Howe and assistant Jason Tindall.
However, the highly-regarded Howe has knocked back The Posh's overtures and has decided to remain at the Fitness First Stadium where he has led Bournemouth to the top of League Two this season, despite a transfer embargo being placed on the club.
Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell is delighted that Howe and Tindall have decided to stay at Bournemouth, telling the Daily Echo:"I met with Eddie and Jason this morning after letting them know of the interest late last night.
"Eddie, Jason and myself were all very flattered that somebody had taken the trouble to approach us.
"But the circumstances are that Eddie and Jason are keen to see us progress and want to stick with us.
"Eddie has taken the Peterborough guy's number and has contacted him to say thanks for the interest but that, at this moment in time, both he and Jason are dedicated to working with AFC Bournemouth.
