Newcastle United have signed French winger Fabrice Pancrate on a deal until the end of the season after he impressed on trial at St James' Park.
The 29-year-old had been on trial at the Championship high fliers for the past fortnight and he has impressed boss Chris Hughton and the club's coaching staff sufficiently to be rewarded with a contract
Pancrate arrives on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint Germain in the summer and had been linked with Portsmouth, Burnley and Sheffield United.
The Magpies have an option of extending his deal for two more years if he impresses and are now waiting to see if Pancrate will be able to make his debut in Monday's match at Preston as he awaits international clearance.
