Former Paris St Germain winger Fabrice Pancrate could be set for a move to Newcastle United after impressing in a reserve game for the Magpies against Hartlepool on Tuesday evening.
The Frenchman has been on trial at the Championship club for the last week, and set up the second of Newcastle's goals in the 3-2 win at St James' Park...sorry, sportsdirect.com@ St James' Park!
The 29-year-old was released by the PSG over the summer, and seemed to impress watching Toon boss Chris Hughton, who was in the stands on Tuesday.
"He did well," Hughton told The Journal. "We really wanted to see him in a game, so we gave him the opportunity.
"He will be training with us for the next few days and that will give us a chance to have a real good look at him.
"We already have great quality on the right-hand side with Ryan Taylor, Jonas [Gutierrez] and Danny Guthrie, but he could offer us something different with his pace.
"His biggest asset is his experience - he's played in a couple of positions, is good on the ball, works hard and I enjoyed watching him."
