Valencia: I'm no Ronaldo!

Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia has revelaed his anger at the constant comparisons between himself and former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo left Old Trafford for the Santiago Bernabeu for a world record £80million in the summer and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson pinpointed Ecuadorian winger Antonio Valencia as a seemingly suitable replacement for the current FIFA World Player of The Year.
Despite settling in well to life in the Theatre of Dreams, having netted five goals in all competitions, the £16million man is becoming increasingly irritated by the non-stop comparisons he is drawing with his Portuguese predecessor and wishes only to be recognized for his very own exploits.
"I am my own man!” he was quoted as saying by the Independent.
"I thought Cristiano was a very good player but I always play according to what I think and what I want to do at that particular moment and what I know. I never imitate anyone,” he stressed.
The United ace also revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson was keen for Valencia to carve out his own reputation at the club.
"He said, 'You don't have to follow Cristiano but you do have to work' – and I'm doing that," the 24 year-old maintained.
"He said, 'Enjoy it, enjoy Manchester. Do things well.'"
"I like to spend time at home with my partner and my family. I never look out for a photo opportunity.
“If that's what Paul Scholes is like then, yes, the comparison is correct,” he ended.
