Welbeck pens new Man Utd deal

Having recently secured the long-term future of Italian starlet Federico Macheda, Manchester United have now confirmed Danny Welbeck has signed a new deal at Old Trafford until June 2013.
The 19-year-old, who has spent his entire career with the Red Devils, has has made seven appearances so far for this season for the Premier League champions, scoring twice in the process.
He has started United's last two UEFA Champions League games; a 1-0 home defeat to Besiktas and the impressive 3-1 win over VfL Wolfsburg in midweek, with Sir Alex Ferguson shorn of 15 first-team players.
Manchester-born Welbeck, who has also become a mainstay in Staurt Pearce's England Under-21 squad, has expressed his delight at inking a new contact and thanked Sir Alex for the faith shown in him.
"I am really happy, there was never a doubt that this is where I want to be," he told the club's official website.
"I am enjoying every minute and learning so much from all the great players that are here.
"I would like to thank Sir Alex (Ferguson), the club and the fans for all their support."
Ferguson was also 'delighted' with the news: "We see Danny as one of the great young players who has emerged from the academy.
"He will have a terrific career and we are glad that he has placed his trust in us with his future."
Macheda, 18, committed his long-term future to the club last month, while young Irish midfielder Darron Gibson penned a new three-year deal at the start of the season as Ferguson attempts to safeguard United's future.
