AZ Alkmaar's Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm has laughed off suggestions he could join Blackburn Rovers in January and insists he is happy at the DSB Stadion.
Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is understood to be a big admirer of the Sweden Under-21 international following his impressive showing at the European Under-21 Championships in his homleland over the summer.
The attacking midfielder's all-action displays caught the attention of a host of clubs, including Fulham and Everton, but instead opted to put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract with Eredevisie champions AZ.
However, the 21-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular place in Ronald Koeman's starting XI, his cause not helped by the fact he is ineligible to play in the UEFA Champions League having appeared in the qualifying stages for Kalmar FF.
Elm's current plight has led to specualtion that he could be heading for the Premier League with 'Big Sam' reportedly preparing a bid to take him to Ewood Park, but the Swede has been quick to dismiss the reports.
"I am definitely not, that's totally made up. I like it a lot in Alkmaar," Elm told Fotbollskanalen.
He continued: "It's a bit odd playing a game, and things go well, and then not being able to play in the Champions League.
"And when things go well there, I can understand that the manager doesn't want to change it."
