PSG ace set for Rovers talks

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce could be set to make Paris St Germain winger Jerome Rothen his ninth signing of a busy summer at Ewood Park.

Reports indicate that the 31-year-old - who formed a devastating partnership with Manchester United star Patrice Evra for Monaco during the club's run to the UEFA Champions League final in 2004 - is set to arrive in England on Monday for signing talks with 'Big Sam'.

Rothen, who operates primarily on the left, is thought to be surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes after five-years in the French capital following disciplinary issues with new coach Antoine Kombouare.

Allardyce has forged a reputation for signing players who appear to have been marginalised elsewhere having rejuvenated the careers of the likes of Jay-Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff and Ivan Campo in his time at Bolton.

And it now appears that he may well be doing the same with former France international Rothen, who has refused to rule out a move to the Premier League after spending his entire career in his homeland.

"There have been contacts,"
Rothan told skysports.com. "I have nothing for the press, but for sure I will play for a club this season, no doubt about it.

"If it is not in Paris it can be somewhere else."

Kombouare!

Haha total legend - looks about 50 in my Panini sticker album - I am telling you mate!!!

Top drawer - always remember he was far too good for Aberdeen!!!

Antoine Koumbouare

What a player Toni Koumbouare was!
I remember me and Iain went to an Aberdeen Killie game in the mid 90's whcih Aberdeen won 4-0.
I'm not joking Koumbouare was absolutley immense from the back. Absolute clas. He repeatedly pinged the ball 70 yds straight to feet and read the game so easily it was bordering on embarrasing. Probably the best individual performance I have seen at Pittodrie.

Next thng you know he must of turned up to training stinking off piss with a grey cardigan on because Aberdeen suddenly discovered that he was actually older than he sayshe was! Didnt last long after that.

HAHA

Brillaint JamDav - brilliant!!

No doubt I will get a text from Lee just to make sure I am getting it!!!

Rothen

Something doesnt smell right about this deal if you ask me.
