Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has been left frustrated in his attempts to bring Keith Andrews to Craven Cottage this summer after it emerged Blackburn Rovers have dismissed an enquiry for the Irish midfielder.According to
Skysports.com, Hodgson had identified the 28-year-old as a key transfer target as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season's Europa League campaign as well as trying to match the increasing expectation levels of fans having led the Cottagers to their highest ever top-flight finish of 7th last term.
Andrews, 28, was brought to Ewood Park by former boss Paul Ince from MK Dons last summer
and although many questioned whether the former Wolves
youngster could cut it at the top level, he proved his critics wrong by playing an instrumental role in the club's successful battle against relegation.
The Republic of Ireland international benefited from fellow midfielders Steven Reid and David Dunn struggling with injuries for sustained periods last season and made 27 Premier League starts for the Lancashire club scoring four goals in the process.
Having revealed earlier this week that he was under no pressure to sell any more of his players following the departures of Andre Ooijer, Tugay, Roque Santa Cruz and Matt Derbyshire already this summer, Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has rebuffed the Cottagers approach who are now expected to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
